Traditionally Root Beer was a molasses based soda. Rum is also frequently distilled from molasses or sugarcane. Well guess what, together they made a drink that gives the rum and coke a true run for its money!

These two go hand-in-hand, especially sitting on a nice deck, or around a campfire, with good friends. A rum and coke is a nice drink but they've never really fit together. The Rum and Root Beer though, they were made for each other.

Ingredients
-
1 oz Rootside Root Beer Mix
2 oz Black or Dark Rum
4-5 oz Sparkling Water
Directions
Add ingredients to a glass filled with ice, top with sparkling water and gently stir. Enjoy!
Recipe Note
While here we used DeVine’s Honey Shine (a honey based version of aged rum), this drink will of course work well with any rum you’ve got! Ideally molasses based rums though!
